The Library and Information Centre of the All India Institute
of Speech and Hearing, Mysore, has been in existence since
the establishment of the Institute. The library and information
center of the Institute is housed in a newly constructed four-storied
building with an area of 24000sq. ft. The ground floor houses
the Book Section, Back Volumes of Journals, and a browsing
center, the first floor houses a section for display of new
books, Current Journals and Reference books, the
second floor houses the air conditioned computer browsing
center and two spacious reading halls, while the 3rd
floor houses the offices of Academic section The building
and the furniture are specially designed to meet functional,
as well as aesthetic requirements. The building is surrounded
by beautiful green lush lawn and well-maintained rose garden
and ornamental plants. This pleasant atmosphere is conducive
for long hours of study. The library is well equipped with
conventional resources, as well as technology based
information services.
